Roadtrip Unintended
It's easy to get stuck in a relentless cycle. There's no truer saying for the last few years during covid, especially for those of us in cities that were frequently locked down.
The decision for me to break the cycle was surprisingly harder than it seemed and even when I'd taken the leap, I was a shell of my former self.
Traveling to Airlie beach to spend some time with friends turned out to be a golden opportunity, with Melbourne being thrown back into lockdown just hours after I escaped the city. Suddenly, instead of heading to the airport, I jumped in a buddy's car and was heading north to Cairns. It was scary. It was exciting. For the first time in 18 months, I felt alive.
